Material Handler

Description:

Tier 1 Automotive Supplier that ranked number 34 in the Top 100 Workplaces in Michigan in 2021 is looking for Material Handlers to join their team in Rochester, MI ASAP!

Shift Time:
1st shift: 7am – 3:00pm
2nd shift: 3pm -11pm
3rd shift: 11pm – 7:00am

 
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday overtime available

Pay: Up to $16.50 an hr. depending on experience (10% shift premium for 3rd shift)
Weekend Shift Premium: 20%

CONTRACT TO DIRECT after 90 days based on performance and attendance!

Essential Duties of Material Handler:
Perform all necessary functions pertaining to material shipping/receiving and warehouse maintenance. Prepares receiving reports required for all incoming production and non-production material. Coordinates all shipments with Logistics Deponent.

Material Handler Activities:
•    Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
•    Move material into system using RF scanner.
•    Performs random inspection to verify part and quantity accuracy.
•    Sends appropriate parts to containment area for testing.
•    Rotates all stock to comply with FIFO (First In First Out) requirement.
•    Labels all pallets with Master H.U
•    Pull customer requirements per pick sheets.

Internal Support:
•    Stock production areas per pull sheets (2 Bin).
•    Maintain packaging levels in production (2 Bin).
•    Consolidate rack space when needed.
•    Clean totes for production use.
•    Weigh and label scrap and recycle bins.
•    Wrap pallets for outbound shipments.

Requirements of Material Handler:
•    3+ yrs. of related experience in logistics
•    Automotive Sector – Production facilities – Tier 1 and 2 preferred
•    Must be able to operate any Hi-Lo
•    Extended knowledge in material handling, packaging, shipping
•    Excel, SAP, Outlook
